GASAGASE PUDI FOR SHYAVIGE/POPPY SEED POWDER FOR HOPPERS



Ottu shyavige /shyavige is a traditional south Indian rice preparation. This popular rice flour string hooper is bland and is served with salty, spicy or sweet side dishes. Simple poppy seed powder sweetened with jaggery is very soothing and endearing. Poppy seeds with its health benefits is always welcome in Indian kitchens.
  • Preparation and cooking time  - 15 minutes
Ingredients
  • Poppy seeds - 1 cup
  • Crushed jaggery/powdered jaggery - 1 cup
Method
  • Clean and roast poppy seeds under low flame till the seeds start popping/aromatic, keep aside and cool
  • Powder cooled poppy seeds in a grinder, add jaggery and grind further to a coarse powder.
                    

Sprinkle this powder on plain shyavige as per your taste , mix and enjoy.
