ALMOND RAISIN CHUTNEY WITH TOMATOES


With their tangy, spicy, sweet, salty taste chutneys tease the palate and stimulate taste buds. They can be paired well with any of the Indian dishes like dosa, idli, upma, pongal, chapathi, parantha etc. Almond raisin chutney brings in the goodness of almonds, raisins, tomatoes and spices into a lip smacking combination. This will taste great with dosas and can also be used a dip /spread.
This preparation is very low on calories and very rich in nutrients.
  • Preparation time - 10 minutes
Ingredients
  • Roasted almonds - a handful
  • Raisins - 20 - 25
  • Green chillies = 3
  • Coriander - 2 sprigs
  • Fenugreek - 1/2 spoon
  • Asofoetida - size of a chick pea
  • Salt - to taste.
  • Edible oil (any) - 1 spoon
  • Mustard - 1/2 tea spoon
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig

Preparation/ Method
  • Heat wok/kadai,
  • Add 1/2 spoon oil,
  • Add asafoetida and roast till aroma wafts
  • Add fenugreek roast till aromatic
  • Add green chillies, coriander and fry
  • Add chopped tomatotes and sautee
  • Add raisins and roasted almonds mix all the ingredients
  • Add salt to taste and grind with very little water.
  • Remove from the grinder/mixer and garnish with mustard and curry leaves seasoning.
